Jakarta, 20th February 2024: Rapid technological advancements is expected to skyrocket Indonesia’s economy in the coming years. As per the country’s Ministry of Finance, embracing new technologies may propel the economy by as much as $2.8 trillion by 2040.
Indonesia has surpassed many others when it comes to leveraging IoT applications, which currently account for 50 percent of Indonesia’s GDP. To top it all, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI) has launched the Digital Roadmap 2021-2024 to promote the country’s digital transformation.
At the heart of these developments lie the country’s booming IT sector which as per industry experts will become a global reckoning force. McKinsey’s research has gone to the extent of estimating that Indonesia will not only top ASEAN but also the entire APAC region in overall IT spending, touching $6 billion in 2024.
Furthermore, the country is anticipated to have a close competition with India for the fastest growing economy over the next five years.
